  • Live Music: The Here & Now

    February 14th, 2020 | 9pm

Uptown Alley • 6101 Brad McNeer Pkwy • Midlothian, VA 23112

The Here and Now is a band from Chesterfield Va, Covering top hits from mainly the 90’s alternative rock era and revamped versions of 80’s hits.

In 2016 a group of elite musicians would travel through space and time to “The Here and Now” and bring some of the greatest songs ever recorded back to the masses.  Armed with only some basic musical instruments, astonishing vocal chops, and their good looks, this band of four began the daunting task of re-indoctrinating helpless concert goers throughout the great state of Virginia with heavy doses of 90’s era alternative rock, “beefed up” versions of 80’s new wave classics, and a few songs from other decades thrown in for good measure.

Led by vocalist/guitarist and all-around nice guy, Chad “Maverick” Mosson, The Here and Now have been entertaining and winning back the hearts of music lovers everywhere with their high energy live shows and expansive catalog of songs that ranges anywhere from Richard Marx to Nirvana and Eddie Money to Eve 6.  Mission commanders T.J. Sutherland and George Broyer form the backbone rhythm section on drums and bass guitar respectively, while Ryan “Cold Shot” Colton provides the tasty lead guitar licks needed to breath new life into these sometimes long forgotten gems.

  • Live Music: Flat Elvis

    February 15th, 2020 | 9pm

Uptown Alley • 6101 Brad McNeer Pkwy • Midlothian, VA 23112

It may sound like they’re Elvis impersonators or at least an Elvis cover band, but they’re not. Instead, they’re a group of musicians dedicated to having fun, and making sure you do too, by taking you on a rock tour through the decades. So, what’s up with the name? Simply put, there used to be this cardboard cutout…of Elvis…it was flat…the band needed a name…people liked the name. However, the cardboard likeness of the King has left the building, but they kept the name, so there you go.

    Richmond, Virginia’s own Flat Elvis… …could be Presley…could be Costello…could be Crockett’s ‘gator from Miami Vice…who knows

Merging country, bluegrass, and rock elements into a sharp contemporary sound, Harley Boone is comprised of Megan Lynn Browning (lead vocals), Diane Hossinger (fiddle and vocals), Derek Hurst (guitar and mandolin), Lee Roy (bass and vocals), Adam Hamil (guitar, pedal steel, accordion, banjo, harmonica and vocals) and Bubba Farmer (drums). The group officially formed in the Spring of 2013 opening for Justin Moore; although, the group had been singing together at home and in various configurations and bands since their childhood years in Richmond, VA. Megan Lynn, blessed with an expressive and fiery vocal style, joined and fronted her first band when she was 18 years old and persuaded her talented friends to join in on the hoedown eventually! All six still sing together at home, though, perfecting their four to five-part harmony style and occasionally writing songs. Influences include Alabama, Garth Brooks, Little Big Town, Dolly Parton and Waylon Jennings. Harley Boone, a down-home good time.
